Free VBS: “The Totally Covert Top Secret Classified School Of Spying”
This VBS is offered free for your church to use. I’ve run it a couple of times at different churches and it was a big hit (in fact, some of the kids were still talking about it years later). Below you will find a program overview and links to all the resources you’ll need; you are welcome to download and customize this for your church to use.
Welcome to The Totally Covert Top Secret Classified School Of Spying!
At The Totally Covert Top Secret Classified School Of Spying, kids will learn the skills needed to become master spies. And they will have a lot of fun doing it! Each day brings a new training focus – Spy identity, disguises, trailing & surveillance, secret messages, and gadgets. Each day the training focus will be used as a hook into the gospel message. Not only will the kids be learning what it takes to become master spies; they will learn how to become followers of Jesus.
Ace Warburton, Master Spy is at the top of his game. He’s a renowned secret agent, a well-recognized master of disguise, and the envy of spies everywhere. This week, we’ll join Ace as he stumbles onto the trail of his diabolical arch-nemesis Sedgwick Sly. Ace discovers Sly’s plan to take over the entire world with (does it really matter? Something evil, that’s for sure!). Using all of his spy-skills, spy-tools, and not a little luck, Ace goes undercover, he trails Sly, and he cracks the codes, and (of course) looks dashing the entire time.
Your VBS kids will hear a story about Ace Warburton throughout the week as they take part in their own “School Of Spying” training. Through games, crafts, snacks and story they will learn the skills needed to become master spies.
This theme is a lot of fun and often a little bit silly, but the daily training focuses and stories about Ace Warburton all work together to grab the kids attention and focus it on the gospel points. Your spies-in-training will look up to and admire Ace Warburton. But Ace Warburton is not real; he’s made-up. Through the gospel message, your kids will learn about Jesus who came into the world to save sinners. Jesus is our Savior and as followers of Jesus we should grow to be more like Him!
